As part of our mission to power the net-zero revolution, we are growing our team and looking for a Customer Support Engineer to play a crucial role in helping our customers get the most out of Payaca.

The Role

As a Customer Support Engineer, you will be the frontline of our customer success efforts, helping users troubleshoot issues, optimise their workflows, and integrate Payaca with their existing tools. This is not just a traditional support role, you’ll work closely with both customers and our engineering team to diagnose problems, improve our documentation, and help shape the future of our platform.

This role is fully onsite in our Bristol, Queen Square office, where you’ll be working alongside a passionate team focused on delivering the best possible experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support & Problem Solving
    • Provide first-line support to our customers via chat, email, and phone
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
    • Escalate complex issues to the engineering team when necessary
  • Technical Expertise & Data Handling
    • Manipulate and analyse customer data using Google Sheets / Excel
    • Work with SQL / Python (preferred but not essential) to assist with more advanced data requests
  • Documentation & Process Improvement
    • Create and maintain technical support documentation
    • Identify recurring issues and propose process improvements
  • Collaboration Across Teams
    • Work closely with our software engineers to resolve technical challenges
    • Assist customers with integrations and workflow optimisations
    • Support new feature rollouts by testing and documenting functionality

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience with Google Sheets / Excel (formulas, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Comfortable handling and analysing data; SQL / Python experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A logical and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work collaboratively across customer-facing and technical teams
  • Experience in a customer support or technical support role
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Interest in the renewable energy sector is a bonus
  • Experience utilising AI tools to continuously improve processes whilst ensuring accuracy
