Take a fixed amount deposit

New·
Martha Hearn, Senior Software Engineer

Lots of install businesses ask for the same deposit on every job, say $1,000, rather than a percentage of the price. You can now do that on your payment schedules.

On the proposal's Payment tab, check Deposit on the first stage, choose Fixed amount and enter the amount. To keep it sensible on small jobs, click Set cap and choose a percentage of the total it should never go over.

The deposit is taken out of any unallocated value first, then out of your other stages, starting with the first, so the homeowner still pays the same total. If there's a rebate, your customer sees it taken off too.

Set it once on your templates

Add the deposit to a proposal template and every proposal you build from it starts with it. You can still change it on any proposal before you send it.

Agent Dave can set it up too. Just ask: "Give this proposal a $1,000 deposit, then 50% at install and the rest on completion."
