Hold and track bulk-bought stock with Stock Locations

Installers routinely buy in bulk β€” a pallet of panels, a reel of cable, a case of inverters β€” then draw from that holding across many jobs. Without a stock system, the cost of a bulk delivery lands on whichever Project happened to trigger the order, so project margins look noisy.

Stock Locations give bulk-bought materials a home. A Location is a named place β€” like "Bristol warehouse" or "Blue van" β€” where you hold materials between the supplier and a Project.

  • Buy stock in by raising Purchase Orders against a Location, then send and confirm them like any other PO.
  • See what's on hand and what it's worth, valued at weighted average cost so each delivery blends into the running cost.
  • Move stock onto a Project straight from its Materials tab when a job needs it β€” the Project's material cost is drawn at the real cost you paid, not the price of the latest order.

Stock Locations are now available on every Payaca account. An Admin or Super Admin creates your Locations and manages stock β€” find them under Stock β†’ Stock locations in the sidebar.
