Hide item prices and the tax breakdown on estimates

Improvement·
Dave Timms, Lead Software Engineer

If you sell a solar and battery system as a package, you probably don't want the customer pricing it up line by line. Proposals have been able to hide item prices for a while. Estimates can now do the same.

On a draft estimate, open the Options tab and use the Price detail switches:

  • Hide item prices removes unit prices, line totals and section totals. Your customer still sees what's included, the quantities and the total.
  • Hide tax breakdown removes the subtotal and sales tax lines. The total still includes sales tax.

The switches belong to the project, so they carry through to its proposal and invoices. When an estimate becomes a proposal, your customer sees it laid out the same way.

New projects start with your account defaults, which you can set under Proposals & invoices in settings.
