OVO Energy is one of the UK's largest energy suppliers. OVO Solar and Heating represents their expansion into the clean tech installation market, operating through a franchise model with regional installers rather than in-house teams. This approach allows rapid scaling while maintaining local expertise.

The Challenge

OVO Solar and Heating launched in early 2025 as a new venture within OVO Energy Group. Rather than building an in-house installation team, they chose a franchise model - partnering with regional installers across the UK. CTO Andy Sellick faced a critical decision: build an installer management platform internally, or find an external partner who truly understood the renewable energy space.
