A growth readiness scorecard helps clean tech installation businesses assess their operational maturity across six key areas: operations, sales, team, compliance, financial control, and systems. For UK installers, compliance includes MCS certification and DNO application processes (G98/G99). In Payaca, these workflows are built into a single platform alongside operations, sales and quoting, and finance.
How the assessment works
The scorecard evaluates six areas that determine whether a clean tech installation business can handle growth: Operations & Workflow, Sales & Quoting, Team & Workforce, Compliance & Documentation, Financial Control, and Systems & Technology.
Each area is assessed through two questions, where you select the description that best matches your current process. Answers range from ad-hoc (score 1) to optimised (score 4). Your category score is the average of both questions, normalised to a percentage.
Your overall score places you in one of four maturity levels: Startup Mode (0-25) , Growing Pains (26-50), Ready to Scale (51-75), or Scale-Ready (76-100). Most businesses in the 10-50 employee range fall into Growing Pains or Ready to Scale.
The compliance category is tailored to the UK market, assessing your MCS certification workflows and DNO application processes. For US-based installers, we have a US version that assesses AHJ permits and interconnection applications instead.

What does the Growth Readiness Scorecard measure?
The scorecard assesses six areas of your business: Operations & Workflow, Sales & Quoting, Team & Workforce, Compliance & Documentation, Financial Control, and Systems & Technology. Each area is scored based on your current processes and maturity level.
How is the score calculated?
Each of the 12 scored questions maps to a maturity level from 1 (ad-hoc) to 4 (optimised). Your category scores are the average of two questions each, normalised to a percentage. The overall score is the average across all six categories.
Do I need to give my email to see results?

What do the maturity levels mean?
Startup Mode (0-25) means you're running on instinct and manual effort. Growing Pains (26-50) means structure is emerging but gaps are showing. Ready to Scale (51-75) means good foundations with specific areas to tighten. Scale-Ready (76-100) means your operations can handle significant growth.
Is this relevant to my specific trade?
The scorecard is designed specifically for clean tech installers: solar PV, heat pumps, battery storage, and EV charger businesses. The compliance questions are tailored to UK regulations including MCS certification and DNO applications.
What should I do with my results?
