What is ENA Connect and how does it work with Payaca?

ENA Connect is the platform used to submit grid connection applications to UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). Payaca connects to it directly, so you fill in the G98 or G99 application on the project and Payaca submits it without you logging into ENA Connect.

What's the difference between G98 and G99 applications?

G98 covers smaller installations, up to 16A per phase, and is a notification you can make after connecting. G99 is for larger installations and needs the DNO's approval before you connect. Payaca handles both types.

Which installations can I apply for?

Solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, AC and DC EV chargers, and vehicle to grid.

Can I track DNO application status in Payaca?

Yes. Payaca checks each submitted application with ENA and updates its status on the project, and every change is recorded on the project's activity timeline. You can also build an automation that runs when an application's status changes, for example to text the project owner.

Can I submit the commissioning form from Payaca?

Yes. Once the install is done, the ENA commissioning form opens on the same application. Fill it in and submit it from Payaca.

How do I pick the right device on the application?

Search the ENA device register from the application form. Pick the inverter, battery, heat pump or charger you're fitting and the application carries the model the DNO can match.

What happens if my DNO comes back needing more work before they'll approve a connection?

If ENA Connect returns a 'Works Required' status, Payaca stores the DNO's reasons and displays them directly on the connection application in the project. You see exactly what the DNO needs before they'll approve, without digging through the ENA Connect portal or chasing them for an explanation.
